Refrigeration and preservation

Cold chain control is key to protecting the freshness, quality, and shelf life of fruit during the season. At Espax, we have over 17,000 tons of cold storage capacity and utilize air cooling, hydrocooling, cold storage rooms, and cooling tunnels before shipment.

Hydrocooling allows for rapid water cooling, which helps to better preserve the product, extend its shelf life , and maintain its condition during transport.

Selection and calibration

We classify the fruit according to quality, size, color and commercial need using state-of-the-art calibrators, visual and infrared systems.

The fruit can pass through up to four control filters: field, manual pre-packaging, optical selector and manual control during packaging, guaranteeing more homogeneous loads adapted to each customer.

We prepare different formats and packaging according to the product, client, destination, and campaign. From the packaging line to automatic palletizing, each phase is designed to increase efficiency, traceability, and agility.

With a capacity of over 1,500 pallets per day, we coordinate cold tunnels, dispatch chamber and truck loading to maintain regularity and responsiveness during peak times.

Support infrastructure

Beyond the fruit process

Espax has its own resources that support the daily activity of the plant throughout the campaign.

Maintenance workshop, packaging warehouse, automatic box assembly, truck parking, pallet yard, offices and accommodations are part of a structure designed to support operations, logistics and the human team.
